Merci is a moody, genre-bending alternative pop rock band from the Washington DC area, known for fusing the emotional punch of 2000s alternative rock with the glossy intricacy of modern pop.
Built on a foundation of friendship and relentless reinvention, the group consists of Seth Coggeshall (lead vocals, guitar), Colby Witko (vocals, keyboards), and Jack Dunigan (drums). What began as a series of DIY projects between middle school friends slowly evolved into a signature sound that earned them a deal with Rise Records in 2019, redefining them under the name Merci.
Blending the songwriting instincts of Emo mainstays like My Chemical Romance with a modern pop sheen, Merci combines dreamy cinematics and introspective lyricism to deliver a sound unique among their peers.
In the years since their debut record “Subtle Fiction” Merci has collaborated with the likes of Tim Pagnotta (Sugarcult, Walk The Moon), and shared stage with acts like grandson, Sub-Radio and My Kid Brother. Their song Malena became their fastest-streaming track to date, cementing their evolving presence in the alt-pop world.
